Mental and physical health awareness mission

IP Foundation was born with the vision to help build a society that could support the progress of our Nation. That means a society where everyone cares for each other, where values are rich and ethics are the way of life. This also means intervening in places where things go astray – to remind us of our duties to walk the path of building a strong Nation. We have conducted numerous workshops, donation drives & events to orient the Citizens of India towards being dutiful and to highlight causes and initiatives that need attention. Covid 19 was a calamity that struck the entire world. People talk about how they remember the lockdown, about how things changed so suddenly. But more importantly, we were all reminded of how precious life is. We were reminded how health should never be taken for granted and is essential to experience life at its fullest. In the aftermath of Covid, IP Foundation took the initiative to interact with children to show them the positive path ahead. There were many who lost loved ones. This can be tough to deal with especially for children. Dr Smita Misra recognised this and decided to take action to help those deeply affected by the wounds left by Covid. Visiting 85 schools, under the leadership of Dr Misra, IP Foundation implemented a campaign to talk about Mental Health and make everyone understand its value.  The campaign was initiated to provide thought tools & perspectives from experts and educators to cultivate, nurture and sustain positive mental health. Students and teachers alike were taught about the importance of being aware of one’s own mental hygiene and a constant attention towards one’s state of health. The fact was emphasised that how mental health and physical health are deeply connected to each other and how one is incomplete without the other. Themes such as self love and self care were introduced with the intention to create a comprehensive sense of embracing well being. Covid was also a strong reminder of the importance of maintaining excellent health. And that can only happen by working for it everyday. Which means maintaining a healthy lifestyle. In the past few years, there have been many reports about young children being diagnosed with diabetes, poor eyesight, heart issues & other such complications which were unheard of for this age. These are broadly categorised under lifestyle diseases. IP Foundation educated children on the great importance of correct diet and lifestyle. This will help them to maintain good health and avoid the fore mentioned complications at such a young age. Through workshops and talks, the children were reminded of the importance of physical activity over digital gaming & correct food choices. They were given the message of – “ Happiness is from Health” and were encouraged to consume fruits daily and never say no to vegetables. These workshops and talks were designed by health experts and practitioners along with child psychologists. IP Foundation did such health awareness programmes in 85 schools across 5 States of India. Having touched the lives of more than 2 lakh children, IP Foundation marches onward to continue the mission of spreading the teachings about a wholesome well being for the healthy and strong future of this country. This is part of our endeavour to shape a society where everyone is looked after and we move towards a progressive and prosperous India while upholding the values of Humanity. We believe that great change requires a strong and collective will. And we strive to unify the will of the people of India to guarantee a better tomorrow.
